A jack and jack stands or ramps to lift the car

A Ratchet and a 14-millimeter socket

An oil filter wrench

A torque wrench

A funnel

A drain pan

A clean towel or rag

Before you drain the oil, turn your car on and let it run for five minutes. This allows the oil to heat up, which helps it drain quickly. Once the engine is warm, turn off your vehicle, open the hood, and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Pull the dipstick and remove the oil fill cap.
