background
Land Rovers still under warranty are automatically covered by Land Rover roadside assistance, offering you coverage anywhere in the United States. Land Rover’s warranty is good for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Car trouble always lands somewhere between not fun at all and why did this have to happen on a creepy, foggy road in the middle of the night? One end of that spectrum is a frustrating headache. The other is the first act of a spooky campfire story. And no one will ever be happy to experience either.
Land Rover is primarily known for three things: building some of the world's best off-roading vehicles, like the
Land Rover Discovery
, and building luxurious cars, like the
Range Rover
. And the third thing? They're infamously prone to mechanical issues, leaks, and even breakdowns. Not that these issues make Land Rover fans love them any less, of course!
Jerry
, America’s top-rated
car insurance
expert app, put together this guide to introduce you to Land Rover’s roadside assistance coverage, explain how it works, and show you some useful alternatives you might want to try instead.
And if you want to lower your
Land Rover insurance costs
(or explore insurance for any other vehicle), Jerry’s got you covered there, too!

How does Land Rover Roadside Assistance work?

Most automakers include some level of roadside assistance, and Land Rover is no exception. Simply put, every Land Rover is covered by a
new vehicle limited warranty
lasting four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first
So long as your Land Rover is covered by a warranty, whether it’s a new or a certified used Rover, you’re covered with their roadside assistance. This coverage includes:
  • 24-hour roadside assistance, which covers flat tires, battery jumping, lockouts, fuel delivery, winching, and more
  • 24-hour emergency towing to the nearest Land Rover dealership
  • Trip interruption expense coverage, which reimburses you for out-of-pocket expenses if you’re more than 50 miles from your home, all within reason and only if your car trouble is covered by your warranty
  • Retailer Mobile Technician Program, where a highly-equipped and specialized vehicle will come to you from the nearest Land Rover dealership to do some repairs on the spot

How to use Land Rover roadside assistance

If you need to use your Land Rover roadside assistance, call toll-free at 1-800-637-6837. You’ll need to provide their support representative with:
  • Your full name and a phone number they can reach you at
  • Your Land Rover’s exact, specific location
  • Your license plate number
The representative will dispatch a certified Land Rover technician or mechanic to you, as long as you’re in a serviceable area—if you’re off-roading somewhere their vehicle can’t reach, they might not be able to help. That type of tow usually requires service from a Retailer Mobile Technician who can do more advanced repairs in the field than a typical repair technician.
If the technician can't get you back on the road, you'll get towed to the nearest dealership for servicing with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. If there aren't any dealerships within range, they'll tow you to an alternative authorized service center.
If your breakdown happened more than 50 miles away from your home, you might also be eligible for trip interruption coverage.

What if my Land Rover warranty expired?

Land Rover offers an extended warranty that expands your coverage up to 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. And this includes keeping your roadside assistance for a decade, too.
The downside is that it’s expensive, and you have to sign up and pay for this service before your original limited warranty expires. Then, after those four years, you're left to your own devices.
Land Rover’s warranties don’t cover routine maintenance or wear and tear. You’ll want to carefully review your warranty information and contact Land Rover directly for additional information.

Is Land Rover Roadside Assistance worth it?

One of the best qualities of Land Rover roadside assistance is the price: zero. It’s free with any new or pre-certified used Land Rover for as long as the car is covered by its limited or extended warranty.

Alternatives to Land Rover Roadside Assistance

Land Rover’s roadside assistance is dependable, but if you find yourself experiencing car trouble hundreds of miles away from the nearest Land Rover dealership, that could be a problem.
Land Rovers aren't as ubiquitous as competitors like
Subaru
or
Jeep
, so investing in a secondary roadside assistance program might be worth investing in to be safe. And it's also good to keep these alternatives in mind if your warranty runs out.
Roadside assistance services—often referred to as
towing and labor coverage
—are offered by nearly every major car insurance provider, though this coverage is usually only available if you also have
collision
and
comprehensive insurance
, too.
Some mobile phone service providers also offer roadside assistance packages for as little as $5. And of course, it's a major selling point for those
considering joining AAA
