How many seats does the 2023 Hyundai Tucson have?

Every Tucson trim, from
the entry-level SE
($26,450) to the near-premium
plug-in Hybrid Limited
($44,310), has space for five passengers. At the very least, you'll get six-way, manually adjustable bucket seats up front and reclining seatbacks in the rear. At best, you’ll enjoy leather heated, ventilated, eight-way power sport seats in the first row and heated seats in the second row.
If you don't want to go up a trim, the Convenience or Premium packages offer some or all of these options.

Do all Tucsons have two rows of seats?

Yes, there are two rows of seats in every Tucson. The Tucson doesn't offer a third row and considering it's Hyundai's best-selling SUV, it's unlikely we’ll see any major changes.

2022 Hyundai Tucson interior

We can't put it better than Edmunds, which praised the 2023 Tucson's "excellent ergonomics and abundance of interior space". The front and rear rows both have plenty of room, and their measurements are nearly identical. That means your kids might be less likely to argue over who called "shotgun" first!

Dimensions

Sport seats might be more comfortable, but they come with a catch: because they sit higher, you give up a few inches of headroom. The Tucson Hybrid also has slightly snugger seating thanks to its battery pack. The table below shows what we mean:

Cargo space

With every seat in place, you can carry up to 38.7 cubic feet of luggage in the rear and tow up to 2,000 pounds. Folding the rear seats opens up 74.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Again, the battery pack in hybrids like the
Tucson SEL Convenience
reduces interior dimensions (to a maximum of 74.5 cubic feet), but we believe the extra fuel mileage is well worth it.
The Tucson also puts families first by providing a low liftover distance and a flat floor in the rear. Located between the rear row cushions, the child seat latches are easily accessible. Finally, a pair of front and rear cupholders, door pockets, seatback pockets, and an overhead console put storage within everyone’s reach.
To upgrade your hauling capacity, check out the Cargo Package, which adds a tray, net, and first aid kit to the Tucson's rear.

How many seats do other Hyundai vehicles have?

The five-seat Tucson is just the start of Hyundai’s lineup—or rather, the middle.
At the bottom of the lineup are the compact
Hyundai Venue
($19,000) and
Kona
($21,990), which each seat five. With its all-electric powertrain, the Kona Electric ($34,000) presents a particularly green five-member family alternative. The Tucson follows with a starting price of $25,800, and lastly, there’s the
Santa Fe
($28,200). Although it's a five-seater, the cabin has 111.5 cubic feet of space for passengers.
Next up, there’s the
Santa Cruz
($24,440). Hyundai calls it the first ever Sport Adventure Vehicle, combining the cabin of an SUV with the bed of a pick-up truck. The five-seat layout remains, but the total passenger volume shrinks to 101.8 cubic feet.
At the top, there's the
Palisade
($34,950), with three rows and 155.3 cubic feet of passenger space. For those who aren't impressed by the Palisade's 22 combined mpg, Hyundai also has two five-seater EVs available. In terms of passenger space, the
IONIQ 5
($39,950) is similar to the Tucson, while the NEXO Fuel Cell ($59,435) is closer to the Santa Cruz.
