Are tires covered under the Jeep warranty?

I’m trying to learn more about the Jeep warranty. While I know it comes with a bumper-to-bumper warranty and a powertrain warranty, I wasn’t sure if that pertained to tires. Does the Jeep warranty cover tires?

Unfortunately, neither the Jeep three-year, 36,000-mile basic warranty nor the five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty covers tire damage. Tires are generally considered wear and tear items, while warranties only cover manufacturer defects. As a result, you’ll have to pay for tires out of pocket.
However, you can always add an extended warranty to protect your tires if you so desire. Jeep offers a Road Hazard Tire & Wheel protection plan that offers:
  • Protection for a time frame of 1 to 7 years
  • Replacement costs of up to $7,500 on tires
  • Roadside assistance
  • $0 deductible
  • Repair for valve stems, tire pressure monitors, balancing, and mounting
If you don’t want to pay for the additional coverage, you can always start a savings account to pay for future repairs. To fund it, lower your monthly or semi-annual
