How big is a 2.5-car garage?
My house doesn’t have a garage, but I’ve always wanted one so I can work on cars and motorcycles. I was thinking about building a 2.5-car garage so I have a bit of extra space, but I’m not sure how big it actually is. What are the typical dimensions of a 2.5-car garage?

A 2.5-car garage is definitely the ideal choice if you’re a gearhead or mechanic. If you’re wondering how much room you have to work with, a 2.5-car garage should be big enough to suit your needs, usually measuring around 24 feet wide by 26 feet deep (24’ x 26’).
However, builders have no standard garage size and will usually make it to your specifications (and your city’s building codes). Other popular dimensions for 2.5-car garages include:

- 26’ x 26’
- 22’ x 26’
- 20’ x 28’
