How do I open the hood of a Toyota Prius?
I just hit 60,000 miles in my 2019 Toyota Prius, and want to change the transmission fluid myself rather than take it to a shop. How do I get under the hood?

- First, *pull the hood lock release lever under your car’s steering wheel (look for the icon of a car with its hood open). Pulling this lever will release the hood a couple of inches so you can access the safety latch.
- Second, exit your vehicle and move to the front of your car’s hood. Just under the hood in the center, you should feel a secondary auxiliary safety latch. To release it, pull up the catch lever and lift the hood.
Prop the hood open with the support rod, and you’re good to go!
