How do you upgrade your car in Asphalt 8?

Asphalt 8 is my new game of choice. While I’ve had plenty of fun playing it, I want to be able to upgrade my car and I’m not sure how to do it. What do I need to do to upgrade my car in Asphalt 8?

Free on both Android and iOS, Asphalt 8 has become a popular racing choice for the thrifty gamer. But it’s just not the same unless you can upgrade your car. To upgrade your car in Asphalt 8, follow these instructions:
  1. Choose the car you wish to improve.
  2. Select Tuning and then Upgrade.
  3. Tap on the purchase icon next to the upgrade you want. You will have to pay in credits or tokens for these.
  4. You can select up to five upgrades in each of these categories before you max it out: acceleration, top speed, handling, and nitro.
