I’ve heard that cars from domestic manufacturers like Ford are usually cheaper in the U.S. than cars made elsewhere, but it’s been a while since I checked new car prices. What is the cheapest Ford model you can buy?

The Maverick is a truly forward-thinking compact truck model, coming standard with a hybrid powertrain, 4,000-pound towing capacity, brilliant fuel economy, and undeniable off-roading ability. Not only this, it is the cheapest new pickup truck you can buy.
The Ford Maverick comes in three different trims and is available with some fantastic extras. Here’s how the prices shape up:
- The XL starts at $19,995. In addition to the hybrid powertrain, it comes with 17-inch steel wheels, pre-collision assist, and automatic emergency braking.
- The XLT starts at $22,360, making it slightly more expensive than Ford’s second-cheapest offering, the EcoSport. The Maverick XLT is available with the FX4 Off-Road Package and upgrades the hybrid engine to an EcoBoost four-cylinder, which offers more power at the cost of some fuel economy.
- The Lariat is the top trim, which starts at $25,860. It is also available with the FX4 Package and equipped with the aforementioned upgraded engine.
- All models are available with AWD, which adds about $2,300 to the base price.
