I’m in the market for a new SUV, but prefer to buy American-made cars. The Chevy Traverse has caught my eye, but I don’t have the budget for a brand new one. What’s the best year for a used Chevy Traverse?

Overall, the best year for a used
Chevrolet Traverse
is 2017. It’s only had two small-batch recalls since it was manufactured and has very few complaints registered with the NHTSA compared to other model years. It also earned fantastic safety ratings, getting a five-star NHTSA safety rating
and an overall rating of “good” from the IIHS. Here are some of the 2017 Traverse’s standard features:
- Automatic headlights
- Cruise control
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Backup camera
- 6.5-inch touchscreen
- Two USB ports
Higher trims come with additional options such as heated seats, remote start, parking sensors, three-zone climate control, and a selection of useful convenience and safety tech.
It’s also good to remember that since you want a used Chevy, the
vehicle trim level, options, and packages
